CBS News

As the CBS News Political Unit Intern in Summer 2018, I led the creation of a 200+ page guide to senate, congressional, and gubernatorial races ahead of the midterm elections that was used by correspondents, anchors, and producers on election day. I wrote briefs on competitive primary elections and produced a presidential candidate tracker documenting the events, fundraising, endorsements, and policies of likely candidates. I reported directly to the Political Director and assisted with research and monitoring events.

I also worked with producers in the field at events like the Manafort trial, where I provided in-the-courtroom updates and color and was the first person to deliver the jury verdict to the network’s newsroom and live-on-air correspondent direct from the courthouse.

I attended events on behalf of the unit to track topics tied to the upcoming election, including DNC Rules and Bylaws reform meetings, and assisted on other general assignment DC Bureau shoots. I was also tapped to work weekends on Face The Nation, assisting with guest greeting, logging, and other production-related duties.
